Job/Person Summary
The Basingstoke Alliance SCITT is an accredited provider of school centered initial teacher training (SCITT). We are looking to appoint a dedicated and passionate educator as the Director of the Basingstoke Alliance SCITT. This is a successful partnership which has had a significant impact on the local area with the provision of new secondary teachers and supporting the professional development of the schools. Dove House School Academy is the accredited provider and outstanding lead school for pupils with SEN. The partnership has been nationally recognised for the strength of its SEN provision within the training programme and the candidate will be expected to build on this strength.
The Programme Director will continue to drive the partnership in its aspiration to be an outstanding provider of initial teacher training (ITT). The ideal candidate will have an understanding of the current national picture of ITT and continuing professional development and be able to apply these to support school improvement at a local level. The role will combine strategic and operational leadership skills in order to ensure that all schools contribute to the high quality ITT provision working with Headteachers, senior/middle leaders and secondary subject specialists.
The Programme Director will be a senior leader at Dove House School Academy where the SCITT is based. They will lead a small but highly competent management and administration team at Dove House which provides the fulcrum for the partnership. Leading with integrity and the ability to build excellent working relationships is central to this role in order to maintain the effective learning community which has been established.

The candidate must be an excellent teacher who is familiar with and has experience of both the school and ITT Ofsted Frameworks. Outstanding teaching and learning is central to the delivery of a high quality ITT programme and in producing good and outstanding teachers. Knowledge and experience of mentoring/coaching to support ITT and continuing professional development is essential to this role.

Excellent communication skills are required to be able to articulate and drive the vision for the partnership at all levels. The candidate must be highly enthusiastic, motivated and be able to take responsibility for organising their work schedule to meet the requirements of this exciting and demanding role.

The role would suit an outstanding and ambitious middle or senior leader who is passionate about high quality teaching and making a difference to the young people of Basingstoke and the surrounding area. The successful candidate will have excellent leadership and communication skills and be a collaborative and highly organised colleague.
